Last day for 2014

Hello lovely people out there, today is my last day here at Enrich for the year. Lucky for you, I will be coming back next year. I have got a couple of things I want to say to you before I leave on holiday. Firstly I would like to say that my mosaic is coming along nicely and hopefully I will be able to finish it before christmas. Next I would like to say that you should always try new things in life. I have struggled with and have done a lot of things that aren't really me here at Enrich,  but after doing those things I always learn something new and I come out a little different than before. See you after the holidays!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Starless Night

The dark sky is only lit up a little bit by the dazzling moon. The lush green meadows are damp and cold. The deep river is flowing very fast through fields. As I look down I see the the gravel that has been crumbled by the many feet that have walked along that track. No, that wasn't a real scene - it was my mosaic called 'Starless Night'. I finally finished gluing all the tiles on today and next week I am going to grout all of it. I can't wait until it's finished. Next year I want to make a love heart out of stone, then I will glue tiles on it. After that I will grout it to make the end product of a 3D mosaic in the shape of a love heart.
Have a nice day
Brianna

They are so CUTE!

What's Better?

Hello people of the world,

What do you think is a better time to have lived, the past or the present? I think that it's present but I'm starting to think again after my P4C session with Katie today. At the moment petrol is polluting the air but is about to change as electric cars are on the market and they must be working on hover cars seeing as the hover board has just came out. The past, on the other hand (as in 36 years ago), had only just got colour TV and cars were really expensive. I can't wait to see what the future will bring. I hope there are glasses that you put on and are like iphone sixes.
By the way today is Katie's last day before she leaves for maternity leave. Wish her luck!

Hi WWVs (world wide viewers),
Today I did more of my article on The Life Of a Ballerina.

Abigail Boyle and Lucy Green - amazing dancers in the Royal New Zealand Ballet,
My sister Kate - who does ballet as well as me,
My friend Breyah - a very talented ballet dancer and...

Glued to a Screen

Imagine this: A peaceful room with a little bit of talking going on, classical music playing in the background and all eyes glued to a screen (not actually glued). If you can picture that, that's where I was this morning when I was writing an "article". Now if you know me REALLY well you'd think I wouldn't be able to cope but - I did. I was writing an article for the 2014 Enrich@ILT newspaper. It is on Old Babies. Other people are doing things like the latest fashion and sport - just like in a normal paper.
Catch ya later!

1,2, SMASH!

BANG! CRACK! SMASH! That was me smashing the tiles for my mosaic. I am planning to do a night scene  with a bright full moon, a dark sky and a meadow with lots of red poppies. First, I smashed the yellow tile into rather small pieces to make the moon. Then I smashed the black tile into teeny tiny pieces to make an outline.
This is all part of my passion project - Mosaics.

STRESS

Do you ever wonder what to do when you are stressed? Perhaps you wondered whether you should cry, or tell someone,  or maybe even do nothing? Well, the first two were good, but you definitely shouldn't do nothing. There is lots of different things to do when you are stressed.

One of the best things to do when you are stressed is to take deep breaths. It is also good to do exercise or just go outside and get some fresh air. I learnt all of this in Nicola's stress lesson today. I think that it is good to know what to do when stressed, so that when you are actually REALLY stressed you will get over it quickly.

Last Week of School!

Hi guys, guess what....IT"S THE LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL ( for this term) and I'm really excited!

Today, I grouted and cleaned my mosaic. Which means I'm pretty much finished! Katie got some bottled grout which was really hard to get out but I guess that's a lot easier than making the grout.

See you later :)

Custom Glitter Text

As you all know (or should know) I am not the best at chess. So, today I was pretty surprised when I got what must have my 3rd or 4th win in my life. It started when I challenged Grace to a game of chess. Then we set up.  I was white and she was black. When we got started I tried to do scholars but Grace stopped me. Scholars is when you do four moves to get the other person in checkmate. Anyway I just kind of had to get on with it and come up with a new plan. After 5 or so turns I got one. Kill all her pieces so it's a couple of pawns and the King. Unfortunately I lost some pieces along the way but I still got her in Checkmate.

What week is it???

Hi guys, guess what week it is this week........GIFTED AWARENESS WEEK! Gifted awareness week is a week to be aware of gifted individuals I guess. We watched a clip about different peoples perspectives on being gifted. One person was saying that you had to be born with a sort of "gift" to be gifted. Another person said that you could try really hard and do lots of practice in an area you're passionate about, and you could become gifted. So you see, it is kind of like a debate. I think you have to be born with it but as you can see nobody knows - at the moment.  We also discussed how gifted people stick out.

See ya' later! :)

Mosaic Time

What's up, people? I'm am really excited today because we did the first session of passion projects! I am doing mosaics. You should all know what mosaics are but just incase, mosaics are a type of art where you usually use tiles and make a picture, letter, number, shape and lots more. You use a special glue to glue the tiles down and then fill in the gaps with a thing called grout. I am going to be making a G and L ( I've already got a B ) and then I will have all my initials.

Good-Bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you a perfectionism?

Yes, it thought I would be with all those lists of what you would do if you were one. They all just sounded exactly like me! I had just taken a test on perfectionism and at the end of it I turned out to like everything to be perfect. We had looked at a slideshow that explained what a person that likes everything to be perfect ( like me! ) would do. It was things like if you had a project you would have to make it exactly as it says on a criteria you were given or if you were in a group you would always have to be the leader. I am not always perfect though.

After lunch I am going to do brainboosters and thinking on your feet. They are both with Jenni and so was perfectionism.

Good-Bye!!!!!!!!!!!

ONE MINUTE TO GO!

"Giddy up horsey!" I said as the horse moved." Now, if I move you I will be able to get their Queen but I will lose my bishop. Oh well,  a Queen's better than a bishop"I said to the pawn.

I was playing chess (obviously). I hadn't played chess in a long time so I was quite excited. I was white and Neave was black. I killed her Queen and as I had predicted, she killed my bishop. We kept on playing. It was a bit different for me because for once I had a game plan. Then Katie yelled"One minute to go." My new game plan was kill as many of her people as possible because I knew we wouldn't get it finished. 30 seconds,  20 seconds, 15 seconds, 10 seconds, 5 seconds, 1 second... BOOM! The music started and we added up the points. I got 20 points and Neave got 19. It was really close.

We do chess at Enrich because it gets our brains thinking and you have to make strategies and game plans (though I don't which is why I normally lose).

Brain Training

I can't believe it's already the last week of term 1. I'm really excited about the summer holidays! Term 1 has been really exciting. Anyway, today at Enrich we did brain training. It was really fun. We played games that helped us to train our brain. It is for all ages. Before we went onto the games we watched a video and in it you had to do an activity where you had to say the colour which was written in a different colour. So say it said blue it might be coloured in  yellow. Then you had to say the of the word so say it said green and it was coloured in red you would have to say red. It was amusing! OK, I've got to go now. See you after the holidays!

What is your learning style?

It was kind of weird. But I was happy.  Today at Enrich we did this Multiple Intelligence quiz.  It only asks you questions like when your in a group are you normally a leader.  Then it would give you the choice of never, a little bit, sometimes, a lot or always. We did a similar test last year and  my result told me I was a visual learner and that is why this years result surprised me. These were my results:

MAGIC!!!

I was stunned. It was like magic.  I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I was looking at a picture that had turned into a video. It was amazing. It was an Aurasma. I tried to watch all of them but I didn't have enough time. We got called back to the mat like 20 seconds after we got to go away. I thought that they were awesome. I was jumping up and down when I got told that we were allowed to make our own Aurasma! I made one with Rhylee. It was really funny. I recommend that you should get Aurasma of the app store. This is part of our concept (Discovery) because we are discovering something new.

Good-Bye!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also went to Wuzzles with Nicola and it was really hard because we had to unscramble some mixed up compound words.
